Dr. Panagiota (Yola) Dionysopoulou is the Director General of Tourism Policy at the Ministry of Tourism since 2018, and a member of the Hellenic Open University. She has served as General Director of Higher Education (2015-2018) at the Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs (2015-2018), with extensive teaching experience in Higher Education, on issues related to the Organization and Management of Organizations and Services, the operation of the Tourism Sector and European Policy at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has also taught at the University of Patras, the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, the University of West Attica and the National School of Public Administration.
In addition to her teaching experience, she has held several years of management positions at TEI of Athens, at the Youth Institute of which she was Director (2007-2010) and at the Ministry of Education where she has held the positions of Director of Quality & Efficiency and Director General of Human Resources.
She has completed her Postgraduate Studies - PhD Year - in International and European Studies from the University of Athens, with honours. He holds a PhD in Tourism Economics and Policy from the University of the Aegean.
He also holds a Master's Degree in Public Economics and Politics from the University of West Attica.
He has successfully completed the London School of Economics and Political Science, in 2022, the programme entitled: "Technological Disruption: managing the Impact on Business, Society and Politics".
He has carried out studies, has participated in international conferences and has published articles in scientific journals and edited volumes.
Her research interests focus on Strategic Planning and Sustainable Development, Organization and Management of Organizations and Services, the operation of the Tourism Sector, Tourism Management and Policy Issues with emphasis on European Policy and the International Environment, Sustainability and Promotion of Thematic Forms of Tourism.
