Mr. Themistocles Roustanis is a graduate of the Department of Surveying and Surveying Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2003).
He received his PhD from the same Department with the title "Organization and Management of Spatio-Temporal Cartographic Data in a Geographic Information Systems Environment" (2024) and a Master's degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in "Techniques and Methods in Spatial Analysis, Planning and Management", majoring in "Cadastre and Spatial Data Management" (2005).
He has more than 20 years of professional and research experience in the design and development of Geoinformatics systems, Database Management, data analysis, collection and analysis of Geographic Information Systems requirements. His experience consists of different approaches to data analysis, system design and development using both commercial Geographic Information Systems packages and open source. In this context he has extensive expertise in various programming languages and technologies such as .NET, JScript, HTML5 for end-user application development, Python, SQL for data analysis, and experience with all known database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, mySQL etc.
He has been involved in more than 14 geoinformatics projects as a Project Manager, team coordinator and systems design and implementation manager. In addition, he has been involved in more than 40 projects in the fields of surveying, cartography, cadastre, design and development of geoinformatics systems and design and development of databases. Finally, he has been a member of a research team in more than 20 European and national research projects.
In addition, he has published more than 10 articles in national and international conferences and has taught for 6 years as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Geoinformatics and Topography of Serres, teaching courses such as Applications of Geographic Information Systems, Automation in Local Government, Real Estate Valuation and Land Management at undergraduate level. He also has a good knowledge of English.
